Fortunately, the boat had been stored inside for five years and was completely dry inside. The paint was peeling off pretty much everywhere. It is something thick over the original finish which was some sort of speckled plaster like material that must have been done before the deck was fastened to the hull. I am scraping right now but I may consider a light sandblasting. Am hoping to finish up the interior while in California. This V17 has this V-berth shown and two seats/quarter births. The port side has a motor mount and the starboard has a battery box mounted.
The V17 is definately a spartan boat. Perhaps I will put in nice cushions some day. But it really is more of a camping day sailor craft than its bigger sisters. |
